Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread Recipe
1 ¼ Cups Cornmeal ¾ Cup All-Purpose Flour 1 ½ tsps. Baking Powder ¼ tsp Baking Soda ¼ Cup Sugar 8 Tbsps Butter 2 Eggs 1 Cup Buttermilk ¼ Cup Milk 2 tsps Salt Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place your 10 inch skillet into the preheated oven. In a bowl combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl combine the milk, buttermilk and eggs. Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix well. Add 6 tablespoons of melted butter to the batter and mix well. Remove the skillet from the oven and reduce the temperature to 375 degrees. Add 2 tablespoon of butter to the hot skillet then add the batter. Return the skillet to the oven then cook for 20 minutes. |
