Corn Dogs

1 Pkg                Beef Hot Dogs
1                       Egg
½ tsp                Salt
¼ Cup              Sugar
1 Cup               Cornmeal
1 Cup                All-Purpose Flour
4 tsps               Baking Powder
1 ¼ Cup           Milk
                        Canola Oil
                        Wood Skewers

Dry hotdogs with paper towels.  Cut the pointed end off the skewers then insert them 2/3 the length of the hotdog.  In a bowl whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.  Now add the milk and egg.  Transfer the batter to a mason jar or tall glass. Bring the oil to temperature.  Dip the hotdogs 3 times into the batter to make sure it is well coated.  Place battered hotdog in the oil and cook for 3 minutes or until it is golden brown
