Green Bean Casserole Recipe
 
1 lb                               Fresh Green Beans
1 small                         Onion
8 oz                              Mushrooms
6 Tbsps                        Butter
2 Cups                         Milk
1 Cup                           Beef Broth
¼ Cup                          Flour
1 can                            French’s Fried Onions
1 tsp                             Black Pepper
2 tsps                           Salt
 
Preheat Oven to 350 degrees.
 
To a pot of boiling water add 1 tsp of salt and the green beans then cook for 3 minutes. After 3 minutes removed the beans from the pot then set them aside until later.  In a frying pan add 2 Tbsps of butter then sauté the onions for 3 minutes.  Add the mushrooms then season with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of pepper and cook for 4 minutes.  After 4 minutes remove from the pan and set it aside until later.  Add the remaining 4 Tbsps of butter to the pan.  Cook the flour for 1 minute then add the beef broth then the milk.  Return the onion and mushroom and allow it to simmer for 4 minutes on low heat.   Add the green beans to a casserole dish then pour the gravy over the beans and mix well. Transfer to the preheated oven and cook for 20 minutes.  After 20 minutes remove it from the oven and top with the fried onions.  Return the casserole to the oven and allow it to bake for a final 5 minutes.
