How to Make Salisbury Steak
Salisbury Steak
1 ½ lbs Ground Beef
1 Tbsp All-purpose Flour
1 Cup Onion
1 Cup Mushrooms
½ Cup Bread Crumbs
1 Egg
½ Cup Beef Broth
1 can French Onion Soup
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tbsp Ketchup
½ tsp Ground Mustard
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp Salt
Season the ground beef with the ground mustard, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Now add the bread crumbs and eggs and mix until well incorporated. Form the ground beef into oval shaped patties then set them aside. In a separate bowl, combine onion soup beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and flour. Whisk until all of the flour has dissolved. In a frying pan, cook the ground steaks for 5 minutes on each side then remove them from the pan. Sauté the onions 3 minutes. Add the mushrooms and sauté for an additional 3 minutes. Pour in the gravy mixture and bring to a light simmer. Return the ground steaks to the pan. Reduce heat to medium low, cover and allow the steaks to cook for 10 minutes.
