Orange Chicken Recipe
2 Chicken Breasts 1 Egg 1 Cup All- Purpose Flour 1 Cup Cornstarch 1 tsp Black Pepper 2 tsps Sea Salt Canola Oil For the Sauce: ¾ Cup Water 2 Tbsps Orange Juice 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice 1/3 Cup Rice Vinegar 2- ½ Tbsps Soy Sauce 1 Tbsp Orange Zest ½ Cup Brown Sugar 1 clove Garlic 1 tsp Grated Ginger 1 Green Onion ¼ tsp Red Pepper Flakes 1 Tbsp Cornstarch Cut the chicken into bite size pieces. Season the chicken with the salt and pepper. Add the egg and mix well. Next coat the chicken with the flour and cornstarch. In a pan bring the oil to medium high temperature and fry the chicken for eight minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside. In an different pan combine the water, orange juice, soy sauce and lemon juice. Add the brown sugar and mix until dissolved. Add the ginger, garlic, red pepper and orange zest and mix well. Add the green onion. Add the cornstarch to thicken the sauce. Turn off the heat then add the chicken to the pan and coat with the sauce. |
